Background
In primary school my experience of mathematics was "a set of rules that we learn for applications", no more and no less. During high school I experienced another effect of studying maths, namely, a boost in confidence. The practice of mathematics made me trust not only my ability to solve mathematical problems, but I developed confidence relative to my emotions, opinions and personal boundaries. With time, mathematics became a tool for understanding and describing new exciting and complex ideas, from which I experienced great satisfaction.
Aim
I want to communicate my experience and inspire people who could be empowered by an increased understanding of maths.
Who can learn mathematics?
Learning mathematics (obviously) doesn't require a genius (what is that anyway?), but a will to learn and a belief that you are able to learn. Like learning anything you will need a mixture of inspiration, self-trust and patience, and hopefully, your studies will give back all of what you put in and more!
Academic experience
Engineering physics, master in theoretical physics
University courses in pure math, programming & physics as well as various courses and projects within applied mathematics. For more info on my education and work, check out my LinkedIn profile and read my bachelor and master thesis.
Some poetry for y'all
Math is there when there is too much bullshit in life. It is something safe and reliable. It is a rest for the mind from tons of impressions surrounding us every day; social media, relationships, politics and so on. It is also a freakin cool ride if you do it right. I would go as far as saying math can clear your soul. It may not be easy but sometimes we need resistance to expand our horizons.
Fight for what you want and you will find yourself <3
